Adam Hammer is something new wrapped in something unexpectedly familiar. His blend of folk, alternative, blues and rock with a dash of alt-country pairs well with Tom Waits, the Lumineers and Leonard Cohen. Known for his alternative-folk style, aggressive fingerpicking and poetic storytelling, Adam Hammer is a singer/songwriter from Central Minnesota. While his roots are in small town Minnesota in a musical family, he sharpened his style through decades of touring and performing with everything from acoustic acts to hard rock and punk bands. He also put in time in Nashville where he honed his unorthodox fingerpicking style and was given the musical descriptor of “tattooed folk” by fellow Music City songwriters.
