THE ROYAL DUMPSTERS

The Royal Dumpsters Modern grunge rock band The Royal Dumpsters was originally founded in Barcelona, Spain in 2013. After two years of mucking through the scene, paying their dues and releasing an understated demo, founding member Rafa Cruz immigrated to the Twin Cities. It was here that the band found a new beginning with a new line-up of other misfit musicians. Defying description whenever possible, The Royal Dumpsters maintain their sound as a hard rocking band with clear influences in 90’s alternative with some noisy blues roots and a punk rock chaser but always driven by a dive bar band mentality. Drawing influence from southern, indie and stoner rock, this band’s style is as diverse as its sound is unified. This new iteration of the Dumpsters have been playing shows since 2018 with other local bands around the Twin Cities. They were part of the 2019 & 2020’s Big Turn Music Festival in Red Wing, MN. To see these gents perform is to know them. Their gigs are a combination of feedback, psychedelic melodies and rhythm changes resulting in a loud, raw experience, laden with attitude; a veritable assault on all senses. Born out of the energy of their live shows, Hazleton Rd, The Royal Dumpsters’ E.P., was released at the end of 2018. The collaborative song writing of A.J. Lance and Rafa Cruz results in 6 original tracks that highlight the grim state of the human condition. Listening to these songs that run the gamut from melancholy to temper tantrum is like an emotional sucker punch. Most recently they were featured on Caydence Records and Five Watts Coffee’s compliation to support local artists, “With Love, Your Coffeeshop, Vol. 1” with their song “Drunken Similes.” They are looking forward to getting back on stage to spread some of that raw energy. In the meantime, they are tightening up some new tunes and preparing to get back into the studio sometime in 2021. Stay tuned! Twin Cities, 2021 TRD
